Susan Whitfield-Lungren
has been creating and selling enameled art since
1974. Her works have been exhibited in shops and galleries throughout
the U.S. Although primarily self taught, Susan learned about many
different art forms by "helping" out in her father’s studio. She
designs and makes kiln fired enameled items and decorative ceramic
items for special occasions, exceptional people and notable
achievements. Materials used in her jewelry, trays, boxes, pictures
and ornaments include copper, fine silver, porcelain enamels, steel,
wood and ceramics.
John
Whitfield has worked as a
free lance artist since 1964. Although he creates art in a variety
of mediums, he currently specializes in wind vanes, sculpture and
fine art jewellery. John's work includes a variety
of commissioned works ranging from a life sized steel figure of
Christ in a chapel in Connecticut to stained glass windows to
large semi-abstract sculptures in public places. Many of his
larger sculptures are bronze over steel or cooper. His smaller
works, including jewellery, sculptures and liturgical items are
found in private collections throughout the United States.
John was born in Sialkot, India (now West Pakistan) to technical
missionaries who ran a training school for Pakistani and Indian
youth. He credits much of his determination to become a sculptor
to childhood hours watching the careful process of making things
which he observed in his father's school. John attended Woodstock
Boarding School in Landour, India and public school in the United
States. He received a B.F.A. from Washburn University in 1964. In
1985, John moved the studio to Lindsborg, Kansas, where he
continues to create a variety of sculptures, carvings, wind vanes
and jewellery
